Well, I took the plunge and sent in three last night.. And I was probably more wishy washy than anyone.. I had fits trying to decide which to use. I had a sepia versions of the original church scene all ready to go and thought I would be using it. But then I did a "cut" version of the original blue one.. I ended up deciding to use it, and scrapped the sepia idea.. :/ I just liked the stark contrast of the shiny blue building against the 100 year old brown brick. BTW, that is Antioch Baptist church, and it really is nestled in a stack of skyscrapers. The church was there way before the big buildings, and everything grew up around it. I ended up using dt 107.. But I did clean up one little twig that was lurking near the top of it.. It might not have been too noticeable to many, but it kind of bugged me, so I cleaned it up so the picture would be fairly pristine as far as the trees. I liked 102 also, but 107 better as it seemed to have more texture, and with two buildings more contrast and angles. For the other, I ended up using one of the first "walkway" shots that took through my windshield. I didn't want every picture to be a "building" picture, and I like the view of the street life, so decided to use it with just a small contrast/ color tone tweak. It's almost the same though.. I had plenty to pick from so it was a hard call... :( For example, I almost used this as the third non building picture. http://home.comcast.net/~disk100/lines00.jpg And I do like it quite a bit.. But then I decided...hummm, maybe too molested for some peoples tastes, and went with the street scene.. :/ Ditto for one of the abstract looking "blue building at angles" shots.. Liked it, but didn't use it.. Ditto for the warmer "walkway" shot.. Better color than the one I used, but I liked the street activity better in the earlier one. Also, that picture is an actual intersection, which I thought fit.. That walkway goes all the way around the perimeter of that intersection. The cars in front of me under the center are out in the middle of the intersection. :/ So anyway.. those are what I ended up using.. For better or worse.. :/ They will post those pretty soon I imagine, but these are the three I ended up using after all the hair pulling.. I may post some of the alternates as replies to comments later. http://home.comcast.net/~disk100/lines1-NM5K.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~disk100/lines2-NM5K.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~disk100/lines3-NM5K.jpg Obviously, I'm not a pro at all... Heck, I just got my first camera in late November after not having one for about 35 years.. Which is a P&S Sony DSC-W290. That oughta send the D-SLR-P&S trolls into a feeding frenzy.. chortle... :)
