What am I looking at, moneywise, to get into photography?
> Well, I'd appreciate help on filling in what things are likely to cost, and what things I need to add.  Kinda hoping to stay under $1000, but that may be unrealistic if I have to buy software. Don't buy anything you don't actually have a reason to get. If you have a specific reason to get the 1.8 lens, grea... 22 Jan 2010 15:16
The Value Of An Apology, At Least From A Republican's Perspective!!
Larry Thong wrote: It seems the meaning and value of the word "apology" has been watered down to now mean "I'm sorry I got caught for doing whatever I did but was very happy doing it up and till the point I got caught." It's sad that this practice is commonplace with business's, politicians, investment ... 12 Oct 2009 21:59

Which camera has the best dynamic range?
I take a lot of pictures at car shows. The digital cameras I've had to date, have trouble rendering white cars in direct sunlight. You can't see the curves of the body panels, they come out pure white with no shading! Cars that are not white come out beautifully. I'm in the market for a new "point and shoot" ca... 8 Sep 2008 17:23
Advent Card Reader: No Win 98 Driver
I got an Advent ADE-RDR01 all in one card reader, which is supposed to work with Windows 98 according to the box. There is no driver for Windows 98 and it doesn't seem to be possible to find one anywhere. The sale of these things seems to be a scam to get people to call a £1.50 a minute phone line when they fi... 10 Aug 2008 19:11
Scanning Color Negative Film -- Nikon Coolscan, Mac
Yes, I'm going back to some older images. Scanning color negative film, mostly Vericolor VPS from 80's with Nikon Super Coolscan V. Software is Nikon Scan 4 and VueScan (current ver).
