I once got chased off of Pompano Beach by FL State Troopers and other law enforcement types, carrying rifles and shotguns. The beach was littered with paper engravings of, inter alia, Andrew Jackson and The Great Seal of the United States of America, with more coming in with every wave. It was a morning to remember. I was not about to argue. I seriously doubt that you or any other reasonably sane person would have argued, either. -- Peter

Drug smugglers, when capture is probable, often dump their money, or their drugs and someone comes back later. This time something must have happened to the boat. I never found out what. I was just pissed that I had no chance to snatch up any of that litter. I have always questioned the accuracy of the official reports of that incident. -- Peter
