"Exposing to the right" is over exposed, what now?
I set my exposure to slide the histogram to the right, without clipping ( when I have time), to capture the most tonal levels . So, now when I am editing the photos they are over exposed(not clipped). A sunrise is a good example. The deep colors are washed out. The obvious fix(to me anyway) in Lightroom or CS4 is t... 19 Oct 2009 12:00
EOS 7D and resolution
18 MP is perhaps a stretch ... about 4 microns per pixel versus about 6 microns, which was recently the low-end limit for a reasonable tradeoff between SNR and resolution. I like the gapless micro-lenses and the shrinking of the surrounding support electronics at each photo diode site. But, is the smaller phot... 29 Oct 2009 12:07
The Value Of An Apology, At Least From A Republican's Perspective!!
Bob G wrote: What he said was a lie, the health care will be provided to all tax payers and illegals are covered under the tax law so will receive free health care. The Value Of An Apology, At Least From A Republican's Perspective!!
Larry Thong wrote: It seems the meaning and value of the word "apology" has been watered down to now mean "I'm sorry I got caught for doing whatever I did but was very happy doing it up and till the point I got caught." It's sad that this practice is commonplace with business's, politicians, investment ... 12 Oct 2009 21:59
Photo of dying marine: was it right for AP to publish?
Came across this article about AP publishing a photo of a dying US marine and the controversy surrounding it. There hasn't been much news here in the UK about it but I expect that it's big news in the US. <http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/53173,news,photograph-of-dying-marine-joshua-bernard-was-it-right-for-the-asso... 19 Sep 2009 19:19
Glass quality and f stop question.
I often see lenses that have "special glass" elements, and some that don't. They claim better transparency. My question is, if you set up a certain shot with certain parameters, and then switch to a better lens, would you have to change the f stop or speed or something to match the better glass? I'm just won... 24 Sep 2009 18:29
manfrotto 785B tripod
I use a D70 with a Nikon 105 macro zoom (heavy!) and the flash is the Sigma 140DG. When on the tripod the ball and socket joint won't hold the weight for long and the camera starts to roll over. I've never owned a tripod with a ball and socket joint before so I don't know if the movement is going to damage i... 10 Nov 2008 14:59

SONY 500/8 REFLEX or Tamron AF 200-500 F5-6,3 Di LD IF
Which one is better. Yes I know that Tamron AF 200-500 F5-6,3 Di LD IF is a zoom lens and SONY 500/8 REFLEX is not but which one gives better photos. -- Juha Heinonen Seilimaki 17 B 8 02180 ESPOO FINLAND E-mail: juha.heinonen(a)pp2REMOVE.inet.fi URL: http://personal.inet.fi/koti/juha.heinonen ... 19 Aug 2008 21:29
