A bit OT: new computer
Just got a 7D and movie playback is beyond my current computer, which is exhibiting death throes by the way (8 years old). So it's time to solve two problems with one outlay of cash. Looking at the Sony VAIO L series and they seem to cover all bases. I will continue to spend most of my time post-processing s... 26 Mar 2010 09:15
5DII software
Well, I've been setting here with a complete system ready to go, except for Photoshop. I'm waiting for the CS5 to become available. And then I decided I'd just try going with the software Canon includes with the kit. It's okay, but there's little or nothing I can do with it; it even has a menu click for Photosho... 23 Mar 2010 01:18
New Henry's Outlet store very "sterile"
Unfortunately, it's just another Henry's, with sparse stock. The old Outlet store was well-suited to its task, to attract real photo enthusiasts. It was small, dimly lit, cluttered, and most importantly, located in Toronto downtown, the hotbed for photo enthusiasts, students, etc. In short, a perfect enthusiast'... 21 Mar 2010 09:26

Fuji; Decline and fall of one of the better brands
Fuji's decline is a sad one. Their Nikon-Fuji hybrid DSLR's really had something unique, Fuji sensor in a Nikon body. I owned an S5, it is still has the best DR of any DSLR. Their P&S's were considered the best at one time, owing to their sensor technology. And where are Fuji now? DSLR-less. Lagging Panasonic ... 19 Mar 2010 20:12
