Hi Peter, Thank you for your response. I tried as you suggested, but Edit -> Keyboard Shortcuts shows only short cuts for the tools and menu commands. I did not find any keyboard short cut that would toggle the behavior of the shift and option keys from constraining and duplicating, respectively, to making them ineffectual. Reset everything and see if that helps.

Reset > everything and see if that helps. Hi Peter, Thank you for the links. They are pretty informative, but with my luck neither of them seem to apply. Even though I use both Fire Fox and Entourage 2004, it did not make a difference whether they were running or not. I ended trashing the Illustrator preferences and settings folders and replacing them with the ones from my laptop (my desktop was having the problem but my laptop wasn't). That cured the problem. I just hope the problem doesn't show on both computers at the same time. Thank you again for all your help Jomar |
