Unfortunately the wars of the last few years were not funded. Spending
went up and tax breaks were introduced. 911 should have been handled
as the crime it was instead of holding two innocent countries responsible.
There are a lot of quality of life issues in the US that I don't understand. A
major political party that is so pro-life for the unborn and so willing to send
20 year olds to kill and be killed.
A party that defends the entrepreneurial spirit and won't apply sound business
principles to the health of a nation.
It's getting late.

The problem is you don't even understand what the dictionary definition
means. You see terms like "command economy" and you think it means the
merest hint of a whisper of government intervention in anything. It doesn't.
It never has outside the paranoid minds of wilfully ignorant wingnuts.

The merest hint of socialism is socialism. It reminds one
of the famous dictum "Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty".
That is, if you let them steal a little of your liberty,
they will just want more. That's the whole idea of
creeping socialism, and why the "merest hint" must be avoided
when it is socialism.
I do allow that it is province of the Federal government to
control interstate commerce: they can and should allow
and/or require insurance companies to sell across state
boundaries, and should regulate such transactions. That's
part of what a real health care reform plan should include.
Drug price regulation is in order too.
Remember, you left wingers, that I am in favor of health
care reform ... very much so. I'm just opposed to
a government run plan that is guaranteed to lead to the
same sort of disaster as a government mandated but flawed

The Hartford Courant several years ago reported on a study of illegal drug
sales done in that city. They found those drug sales soared dramatically on
the same two days every month -- the days the welfare checks were delivered.
That's where much of your taxes "to help needy people" are going.

Then his party would be left with no one.
