I just got Photoshop CS3 Extended. I'd had the trial version (and dl'd CS4
and didn't like it, took it out after one day). I'm interested in learning
about the 3D capabilities, the video tutorial that came with it says to open
a 3D picture (and gives various file formats) This will give a picture with
3D layers to work with?. I don't have any 3D pictures, or a program that I
know of, that creates them. Illustrator sort of does it, you can take a
shape, like a square and make it look 3D. Not sure if I can do this and save
it as one of the files that open in Photoshop. There seem to be programs to
make 3D pictures to start. I found a Google Sketchup plug in for PS but
couldn't find it (still) anywhere online.

I found tutorials that told about using the Vanishing Point took (mesh)
to make something look 3D but don't think this is the same thing.

Is there somewhere online I could find (free) 3D imageins to save and
use in Photoshop to learn, do the tutorials with?

Thanks

I had sketchup once and couldn't figure it out. Seems like it only drew
buildings
Maybe I didn't know enough about it.
I was just looking for something to use with PS CS3. I have a video tutorial
DVD that came with it and keep finding more tuts onlie that say to import
the 3D picture to work on. But it doesn't give source files like with some
of the tutorials. one is a 3D can and putting a label on it. Not sure how
much I'd use this, but it's kind of fascinating to try.
Vanishing point, the filter, seems to do this, but so far I can't get it to
work good for me. Don't think I have the right picture.
Thanks for the answers.

It seems that PS removed the plugin filter for CS3 Ext from its website.
